Inland you will find numerous woodland walks, meandering streams, waterfalls, and an open moorland which has been unspoiled for decades, where wild ponies graze.
All these different environments encourage a variety of birdlife, fauna and flora, including the Cornish Chough, a red-billed and footed bird that appears on the Cornish coat of arms. It went extinct in the mid-20th Century but these birds have now been re-introduced and are thriving.
If it’s a spiritual experience you’re after, we can walk the St Michael’s Way, a Pilgrimage which stretches all the way from the North Coast to the South Coast. It’s the only footpath in Britain that is part of a designated European Culture Route.
