Day Tours of Cornwall’s Sub-Tropical and Scenic South
The town of Falmouth hosts the 3rd deepest natural harbour in the world. Large cargo ships anchor in the sheltered bay before making their onward journey across the globe. The gulf stream passes right past Cornwall, which means mild winters allow sub-tropical gardens to flourish. Palm trees are plentiful with Rhododendron, Magnolia and Camellia also in abundance.
The Lizard Peninsula, an area of “Outstanding natural beauty” is dotted with quaint fishing villages and thatched-roof cottages. We’ll explore castles, creeks and gardens on the sheltered south coast, whilst taking in the breathtaking scenery.
Our two south Cornwall coast tours are split into a historic tour which takes us to the 16th century Pendennis Castle. Set up by Henry VIII as a fort to defend against possible invasion from the Spanish in the mid 16th Century, this stunningly preserved castle enjoys stunning views across the Fal River and is steeped in maritime history.
Our second South Cornish coast day tour meanders along the beautiful and rugged west coast of the Lizard Peninsula. This tour features some of Cornwall’s most breathtaking scenery as used in the acclaimed series Poldark and will take us to the UK mainland’s most southerly point – Lizard Point for some grey seal spotting. So come and take a tour on the South coast.
